Some guest performances are without (spoken) language (Promise Me (8+), Birds (10+), Invisible Lands (14+)) and Tiger Tale (7+) / Tiger (14+) / Playful Tiger (7+*). Others have very little (spoken) language (Stone Play (3+)).
Some performances are translated into German Sign Language (DGS) (dÄmonen (12+) on May 12th at 7pm and May 13th at 10am).
Others have surtitles for people with hearing impairments (Met Zonder Ballen (14+) and The Happy Few (12+)).
The opening ceremony on Sunday May 8th at 5pm will also be interpreted into German Sign Language.
For people who understand English better than German, there will be a short introduction available prior to some performances.
In the schedule we have marked the corresponding events with symbols:
The hands mean translation into German Sign Language (DGS).
The letters mean surtitles for people with hearing impairments.
We also offer performances with tactile guidance (Museum of Memories (14+) on May 9th at 10 am) and whispered interpretations (Vom kleinen Maulwurf, der wissen wollte, wer ihm auf den Kopf gemacht hat (4+) on May 11th at 10 am).

at the festival as comfortable as possible. To book your festival

We cordially invite you and your group to be partners in one of the selected international productions of the festival!
In a preparatory workshop ahead of the performance, we want to approach questions of content, form and aesthetics of the selected production in a practical way and thus enable you and your group to have an even more intensive theatre experience. We will arrange the date together with you. Depending on available capacities, an additional exchange with the artists can take place after the performance.
The offer can be arranged at the JES or at your institution.
